Your account
I forgot my password
On the Log in screen, tap Forgot password? and enter your account’s email address. We’ll email you an 8-digit code; enter it in the app within 15 minutes with your new password. You’re then signed in, and signed out on every other device. No email? Check your spam folder, make sure you used the address you signed up with, and ask for a new code after a minute. If it still doesn’t arrive, email us from that address.
Can I change my username or email?
Not in the app yet. Email us from your account’s email address and tell us what you’d like changed.
Where is my @username?
On your Profile, under your name. Friends add you by it, and Share @username sends it to them.
Deleting your account
Open the app and go to Profile → Account & privacy → Delete account, enter your password and confirm.
- Your email, password, username, friends, blocks, Daily Challenge results and rating are deleted, and you’re signed out everywhere.
- Battles you played stay in your opponents’ match history as “Deleted player”, so their results stay correct.
- Copies in our backups are deleted automatically within 16 days.
- Deleting can’t be undone.
If you can’t sign in, email us from the address on the account and we’ll delete it for you. The Privacy Policy has the full details.
Camera tips
Battles need camera access: if you said no, turn it on in Settings → SolveOffs → Camera. The camera check runs on your phone and nothing is recorded or uploaded. If a check is slow to accept your cube:
- Light: face a window or a lamp. If the app says it’s too dark, add light.
- Reflections: glossy stickers can mirror a lamp. Tilt the cube slightly until the glare is gone.
- Hold steady: keep the face flat to the camera, fill the outline, and keep your fingers off the stickers.
- Cube: use a 3×3 with the standard colours (white opposite yellow, red opposite orange, blue opposite green).
- Camera: battles start on the selfie camera; the switch button changes to the back camera.
Battles and ranked
How does a battle work?
Scramble your cube as shown, show the white face so the camera can check the scramble, inspect for 15 seconds without turning a layer, solve when the countdown ends, tap to stop the timer, then show four solved faces. The Battles tab’s info button shows these steps too.
I lost my connection during a battle
Reopen the app straight away: you have 30 seconds to reconnect and carry on. After that you leave the battle, which counts as a loss in ranked.
Who am I playing in ranked?
A player close to your rating whenever one is available. If nobody is free within about 30 seconds, you race a real player’s recorded, camera-verified solve from an earlier ranked match on the same scramble. See Terms, section 6.
A result or rating looks wrong
Email us with your @username, the time of the match and what happened. We can correct results caused by bugs or cheating.
Reporting and blocking players
Press a player’s name in Friends, Recent matches on your Profile or the Daily leaderboard, or use Report or block on a battle result. Then:
- Report an offensive username, cheating, harassment or anything else. We review every report; the player isn’t told who reported them.
- Block a player so neither of you can find the other, send friend requests or challenges, or be matched in ranked. They aren’t told. Unblock in Profile → Account & privacy → Blocked players.
You can also email reports to us. If someone is in danger, contact your local emergency services first.
Privacy and terms
Read our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. For privacy requests (a copy of your data, corrections, objections), email us from your account’s email address.
